"Once I decided to build a home, I had no idea how to select a builder. After a web search I started talking to Nate @ Blue Horse and considered myself lucky that I had stumbled across their business. I was immediately impressed with their approach of bringing all aspects of the process together under one roof - coming up with an initial concept, determining a budget range, selecting the right lot, and working with an architect - all while making sure what you dream up is what you can actually afford. Nate was super easy to work with and came out to visit a few of the lots that I considered to talk through what was possible. For a first-time home builder, that personal touch went a long way to instill confidence I had picked the right builder.

Once we transitioned to the construction phase there was a seamless transition from Nate to Zach - who would manage the construction process. I couldn't have been more impressed with Zach's knowledge, responsiveness, and ability to ensure every detail was covered. Making sure he had sign off on every decision to ensure we were on the right page before a portion of work was completed led to no misunderstandings down the road. I never doubted any of the subs that Zach worked with or anything that Zach and his crew would work on - all of their work was five-star quality. And last, but certainly not least, one of the most important aspects for me was Blue Horse's management of the budget via an online tool. At any moment I could look up exactly where the budget stood, what had been paid for, how much I had spent on selections (whether I was over or under the allowance) and a view into future costs. It was critical for me to stay on budget and being able to view the day-to-day status enabled me to make decisions knowing how it would impact my bottom line.

Finally, everyone worries about a builder disappearing once the home is done, but the punch list remains. Zach was super diligent in making sure the punch list was documented so we both understood what needed to be done and spent countless hours corralling subs to come back and finish up as well as putting in many hours on his own to check items off the list. I always had full confidence everything would be taken care off.

I'm sure there are plenty of builder/homeowner relationships that are stressful, but in my case, I couldn't have asked for a better relationship with both Nate and Zach. I usually never write reviews, but in this case, for something so important as a person's "home", I wanted to let people know you couldn't make a better choice with Blue Horse. I'm fairly certain I'll have another project come up at some point so both Nate and Zach's numbers will be close at hand!"
